PwC embarks on a journey to redefine its workspaces with the inauguration of a new satellite office in Mondorf-les-Bains, nestled within the premises of the spa center. Designed by Moreno Architecture, the project reflects a fusion of functionality and aesthetics, tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern work culture.
Spatial Design: Enhancing Collaboration and Focus
The allocated space spans 400m2, situated within the attic of the “Aal Thermen” building, offering a serene yet vibrant setting for professional endeavors. With a capacity to accommodate up to sixty employees, the office ensures seamless integration with the existing infrastructural amenities of the site.
Divided into two identical floors interconnected by a footbridge, the architectural intervention preserves the concrete envelope of the structure, thereby retaining the inherent charm of the edifice while fostering a dynamic and inclusive workspace environment.
Collaborative Hub: Fostering Interaction and Engagement
The first floor caters to collaborative endeavors, featuring a spacious layout adorned with architectural elements such as entrance steps facilitating impromptu gatherings and presentations. At the heart of this zone lies “the kitchen,” serving as a focal point for interactions, fostering a culture of camaraderie among the workforce.
Individual Sanctuaries: Cultivating Focus and Productivity
Conversely, the second floor provides a sanctuary for individual focus and productivity, offering an array of seating options to cater to diverse work styles and preferences. The layout culminates with four enclosed stalls, contributing to the ambiance reminiscent of a bustling work café, accentuated by exposed technical elements and natural wood joinery.
Sustainability and Materiality: A Commitment to Resource Efficiency
In alignment with principles of sustainability and materiality, the architectural ethos emphasizes a circular approach, minimizing material usage while ensuring structural integrity. The deliberate decision to showcase technical installations within the ceiling not only accentuates the industrial aesthetic but also underscores a commitment to transparency and resource efficiency.
Through meticulous design interventions, PwC Mondorf Satellite Office emerges as a testament to the evolving paradigm of contemporary workspaces, blending functionality with creativity to cultivate an environment conducive to collaboration, innovation, and holistic well-being.
